About

I have had a pretty varied career thus far, i left 6th form college at the age of 17 after deciding that Art and Design wasn’t a career path i wanted to pursue, and started working as a telecoms apprentice.

During my time as a Telecoms apprentice i worked on many different pieces of kit, but by chance, in a quiet period, i started helping out the IT department, this included 1st and 2nd line support, and i also learned to code visual basic applications (that was many years ago though, lol).

I stayed within the Telecoms sector for about 4 years, before deciding it was time to try something different, that was how i got into contracting in XP rollouts, i started off as a lowly box shifter on £10.50/hr but within a year i was the lead build engineer on £25/hr. This is where my interest in PXE booting started from, as we used PowerQuest to deploy XP images to machines, however i decided there must be other applications for PXE.

I contracted for 2 years before i decided i wanted another change, i had been interested in PHP for several years, and decided it was time to get some commercial experience, and thats where im at now.

This site is mainly just a reference for me, whenever i work out how to do something i tend to post it here, i hope though, that this site will provide a useful resource for other people as well.
